aboutHAPS

In a time of decline for traditional media, such as Radio, TV and Print, the marketing world has been forced to come up with new ways to reach their audiences. Some have turned to internet advertising, others to event promotions and still more to interactive websites. Now imagine a company that combines all of these components into one effective marketing strategy that creates personal connections with the target and a long-lasting branded relationship.

Founded in 2008 and headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky, uHAPS, Inc. is dedicated to providing its clients with maximum exposure to college students and its viewers with a medium through which to interact and connect to one another, as well as brand names.

buzzHAPS

i-Pods, Tivo and instant online news minimize the effectiveness of traditional media. On the other hand uHAPS maximizes your buzz-worthiness amongst the 21-30 year old demographic by inserting your brand into their everyday activities. We are a fully branded force of photographers that capture the "happenin's" of our audience with an ever-expanding collection of party pics.

You never know where the uHAPS crew will appear; from clubs to cafes, headlining concerts to backyard bashes, and from raucous reunions to goodwill gatherings, we put your brand before their eyes and literally in their hands with our "Smile" cards. We snap the town red with our cameras and leave everyone asking for more.

funHAPS

Have you ever wanted to actually have fun with an internship or part-time job? uHAPS is your answer. We are always looking for fun, energetic and exciting people to work for us. You get to meet all kinds of new people, live all sorts of exciting moments, and gain important skills needed for your future, but don't just take our word for it...our photos say more than we can.

Matthew Wiley

President, Co-Founder and uHAPS Daddy
In late 2007, Matthew helped co-founder Stepfan bring his concept for uHaps to life. Having helped lead other investments and early-stage companies over his career, Matthew knew that uHaps had tremendous potential. Matthew grew up north of the border in Canada, and despite 'urban legend'-- he did not eat snow for a living, live with beavers, or make-out with Celine Dion at the local ice skating rink. In addition to his role as President, Matthew also serves as the uHaps' 'Daddy'... you'll often see him giving unsolicited life-lessons, buying everyone lunch and complaining about how the cold weather makes his bones hurt ... (he's old) ...

Stepfan Jefferies

COO, Co-Founder and uHAPS Anxiety Management Director
Along with Matt Wiley, Stepfan is the chief architect of the Good Ship uHAPS. His fondness for revelry, chaos and general mayhem, led to the mystic visions resulting in the creation of the company. When not surfing the waves of entrepreneurial existence, Stepfan enjoys planning humorous schoolhouse "pranks" with his 5 year old son Parker and building campfires by viciously rubbing together the bones of Kurt Cobain and Lucille Ball. Among his long list of illustrious traits and hobbies, Stepfan specializes in convincing business partners that he is entering his late 30s while the truth is that he is only 11 year old.

Jordin Cooper

National Market Director, uHAPS Legs
Despite being young, Jordin is old-skool, she started as an intern with uHAPS and has loved watching it grow. Her job is to manage the market managers and their interns, and her long legs help with this task because she is able to oversee everything that happens. Her long stride also enables her to get things done on the double time, making sure that uHAPS is always running smoothly. She also heads uHAPS fitness evaluations making sure the uHAPS team always keeps it right and keeps it tight!

Katie Foy

Regional Market Manager, uHAPS Rockstar
Katie started out as an intern with uHAPS as well, and she is now responsible for the Knoxville market. Her upbeat attitude and rockin' photography skills can get anyone to smile for uHAPS. She actively attends all the promotions and you can still find her rockin' the uHAPS logo up and down the Knoxville Strip.

Ginia Barnes

Regional Market Manager, uHAPS Mexican Food Connoisseur
Ginia (pronounced: Jenna) graduated from the University of Tennessee in May, and got on board with uHAPS immediately. She moved to Nashville in June and started her journey in the real world. She says the best part about this job is that you still get a taste of both the real world and college life, because it is such a fun job. For a while, she was our only employee in a different time zone-- which always threw her off when it came to conference calls (she would call in an hour late). She is also addicted to Mexican food and freaked out when introduced to a Mexican Buffet in Lexington, KY, she never knew such a glorious place could exist. Now she has seen uHAPS, and her love of Mexican Food blossom into wonderful things.

Adam Trumbo

Content and Quality Manager, uHAPS Sanitation Engineer
Most of the content is proofed and uploaded by Adam. If something you're expecting doesn't show up on the site, it's probably his fault. Blame him. If the title is changed or the spelling is altered, he's probably the one who did it. Darn him. Why do we employ him? If only he didn't have all that blackmail material.

Jonathan Moore

Technical Liaison and uHAPS Monkey
If something is broken on the site or not working properly, picture this face while you're cursing at the screen. Even if it's not his fault, blame him anyway. However do not corner him, please remember that he IS a wild animal and if frightened he will lash back with charming non-sequiturs until you forget what you were talking about or fall asleep from boredom. KEEP FINGERS OUT OF CAGE!!!

Kevin O'Dea

Lead Designer, uHAPS Official McDonald land Historian
Kevin is not really Papa Smurf, and you really wouldn't call him Smurfette. I guess he's strong like Handy, but Handy isn't quite right, either. Hefty was kinda arrogant. Brainy Smurf? No, Kevin's not that smart. Ummm, now that I think about it, he's really more like Gargamel's cat, Azrael. Yeah, that's it. Kevin is Azreal.

Ed Brown

Web Application Developer, uHaps Brain Teaser
Responsible for research and development of front and back-end tools, widgets, thingamujigs, gizmos, thingamubobs, and gadgets which help users do what they need to do. When not reading and drinking coffee or tea he is looking at videos of baby chimps on youtube. Seriously, they are so cute.

Alex McIntyre

Super Intern, Amateur Arm-Wrestler
Alex has been working at uHaps since late June 2008. He has seen the company continue to grow since then, and has helped in hiring interns across the country...In his spare time Alex likes to arm wrestle random people for $10.00 ... so far, this venture has been unsuccessful. He also enjoys playing basketball all the time. Careful if you ever play him in a pickup game because the kids' got mad hops. Hopefully in the future he will be able become a full-time employee of uHaps!
